Location: Bordeaux Left Bank
Blend: 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 20% Petit Verdot.
Average age of vines: 35 years with a density of 8500 vines per hectare.
Harvest: Made by hand using small cases. Only grapes of optimum maturity and health are selected. The vines are attached to a cord and trimmed to produce two windows, which allow maximum exposure to the nourishing sunshine.
Vinification: Tall stainless steel tanks (3.5m x 1.5m) capable of temperature control, allow a cold maceration of the grapes during 5 to 8 days. After the alcoholic fermentation the grapes are then left in the vats for 3 to 4 weeks. During the malolactic fermentation 50% of the volume is placed in new oak barrels and 50% in the vats.
Ageing: The wine receives 3 months with racking and are then aged for 18 months in 100% new French oak barrels.
Production: Up to 10,000 bottles. Alcohol 14%.
